12 Days of Bloc: Our year in numbers
It’s that time of year. As the Christmas trees sparkle and 2021 draws to a close, we’re getting into the spirit of reflection and celebration. And while it’s been another period of global uncertainty, the Bloc team have been resilient and innovative… and just as creative as ever.
As Co-Founder of Bloc Digital, I’ve been very proud to see the team continue to think outside the box – pioneering powerful solutions to new challenges and crafting more realistic visuals than ever before – all despite numerous months of working from home. We’ve launched our first product, embarked on national industry R&D collaborations, and implemented new web technologies.
Although I may be biased(!), our animation studio in particular has been on top of their game. Delivering countless 2D and 3D visualisations, including 10 “hollywood-esque” cinematic animations, they’ve taken the art of the moving image to the next level for our clients and bagged awards along the way.
But it’s not just this industry-leading focus that makes us Bloc. We are the sum of our people, skills, and the community where we’ve made our home.
We’ve also brought our city to life with gigantic, and now immersive AR, ram sculptures. We’ve welcomed Bloc babies and many new faces. We’ve supported diverse routes to industry and are guiding our next-generation talent to kickstart their careers. And we’ve raised funds and created campaigns for charities – both as individuals and a business – all while delivering lasting value and impact to our clients.
One thing for certain is that our 2021 has been all systems go – but taking a moment to pause and be thankful, we reflect on the team spirit, innovation, inspiration and creativity it has brought. All perfectly wrapped up in our 12 days of Bloc are the 2021 facts and figures that encapsulate what we are all about: inspiring growth in our people and our business, sharing our skills and democratising technology, and pushing the boundaries in everything we do.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our team, clients and friends. Thanks for all your hard work, determination and inspiration this year. It’s our people behind the scenes that drive the engine and make us ‘Bloc’, and that has never been more clear.
